EMPOWERING THROUGH CHRIST
When El Shaddai Ministries began, we did not have a vision to start a church. Our
vision was to start a children home which we did at a rented house in Lilavois
which was named El Shaddai Children Home. The vision was to build a house to
house the ministry. In our evening prayers, we started praying for the Lord to give
us land and He led us to Dessources.
When we started visiting Dessources, we found out that most of the people there
practiced voodoo. Even small children used to sing voodoo songs. We started to
talk to the people in Dessources about Jesus. I, Marie Prinvil, used to go twice a
week to read the Bible to them.
When missionaries came to minister in Dessources, we would have services on
Sunday. The people of Dessources who had made a commitment to follow Christ
asked to have services on Sunday even when the missionaries were not there.
This is how El Shaddai Evangelical Church of Dessources began.
Through El Shaddai Evangelical Church, the Lord began to change the culture of
many people in Dessources and established His culture...His Kingdom in their
lives. They are now sharing the gospel with others and praying that the whole
community will serve Jesus as Lord and Savior.
Through mission trips in different areas, ESCM now have another church that is
located in Bariadelle, Jeremie. Our vision is to see this church grow, develop and
make an impact in their community. And again, through evangelism, reaching
others for Christ.
Our vision is to carry out the great commission not only in our community but
throughout Haiti. We use the Kreyol Bible to teach God’s Word to the people. We
believe that people can change and Haiti will change when our mentality changes.
Only God’s Word can and will do that.

BARIADELLE CHURCH
In 2009, we began taking mission trips to an area in Jeremie to build a relationship and minister to a church in Anse d’Hainault and Bariadelle. This is a hard 12-hour trip from Dessources. We took mission teams from Dessources church to help encourage the leaders of the church, minister to youth, hold revivals, feed the people, do food distributions and take supplies to them. We would also send funds and supplies to the pastor so he could minister in his area.
When hurricane Matthew hit the island in 2016, the village of Bariadelle was nearly completely destroyed. So we began working with the people by helping them to purchase land in another area and began helping them to rebuild their church building. The church of Bariadelle became part of El Shaddai Ministries and they named the church El Shaddai Church in Bariadelle. We continue to work with them, help them with the construction of their church and encourage them with their walk with the Lord.
